Title:  The Thief Comes Not Except So That He Might Steal

The text is, “ὁ κλέπτης οὐκ ἔρχεται εἰ μὴ ἵνα κλέψῃ καὶ θύσῃ καὶ ἀπολέσῃ· ἐγὼ ἦλθον ἵνα ζωὴν ἔχωσιν καὶ περισσὸν ἔχωσιν”.

“ὁ”:  masculine, singular, nominative article meaning “the”.

“κλέπτης”:  masculine, singular, nominative noun meaning “thief”.

“οὐκ”:  negative particle meaning “not”.

“ἔρχεται”:  third person, singular, present, active, indicative verb meaning “comes”.

“εἰ”:  subordinating conditional conjunction; see the next word for the combined meaning.

“μὴ”:  negative particle, in combination with the previous word meaning “except”.

“ἵνα”:  subordinating purposive conjunction meaning “so that”.
