Title:  But Jesus Answered Them

The text is, ” Ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἀπεκρίνατο αὐτοῖς· ὁ πατήρ μου ἕως ἄρτι ἐργάζεται κἀγὼ ἐργάζομαι”.

“Ὁ”:  masculine, singular,nominative article meaning “the” but it is not rendered into English here.

“δὲ”:  coordinating conjunction meaning “but”.

“Ἰησοῦς”  masculine, singular, nominative noun meaning “Jesus”.

“ἀπεκρίνατο”:  third person, singular, aorist, middle, indicative verb meaning “answered”.

“αὐτοῖς”:  third person, personal, masculine, plural, dative pronoun meaning “them”.

“ὁ”:  masculine, singular, nominative article meaning “the” but it is not rendered into English here..

“πατήρ”:  masculine, singular,nominative noun meaning “Father”.

“μου”:  first person, personal, singular, genitive pronoun meaning “my”.

“ἕως”:  improper preposition taking the genitive for an object word, but this one has none; it means “until”.

“ἄρτι”:  temporal adverb meaning “now”.

“ἐργάζεται”:  third person, singular, present, middle, indicative verb meaning “is working” or “works”.

“κἀγὼ”:  crasis of “καὶ” (coordinating conjunction)  and “‘έγω” (first person, personal, singular, nominative pronoun), meaning “and I”.

ἐργάζομαι”first person, singular, present, middle, indicative  verb meaning “am working” or “work”.

The meaning of this verse is,

But Jesus answered them, “My father until now is working, and I am working”.
