Title:  I Have Known Him, for I Come From Him

The text is, “ἐγὼ οἶδα αὐτόν, ὅτι παρ’ αὐτοῦ εἰμι κἀκεῖνός με ἀπέστειλεν”.

“ἐγὼ”:  first person, personal, singular, nominative pronoun meaning “I”.

“οἶδα”:  first person, singular, perfect, active, indicative verb meaning “have known”.

“αὐτόν”:  third person, personal, masculine, singular, accusative pronoun meaning “him”.

“ὅτι”:  subordinating causative conjunction meaning “for”.

“παρ’”:  preposition taking the genitive for its object word and meaning “from”.

“αὐτοῦ”:  third person, personal, masculine, singular, genitive pronoun meaning “him”.

“εἰμι”:  first person, singular, present, indicative verb meaning “I come”.

“κἀκεῖνός”:  crisis of “καὶ” (coordinating conjunction) and “έκεῖνός (masculine, singular, nominative, demonstrative pronoun) meaning “and he” or “and that one”.

“με”:  first person, personal, singular, accusative pronoun meaning “me”.

“ἀπέστειλεν”:  third person, aorist, active, indicative verb meaning “sent”.

The meaning of this verse is,

I have known him, for I come from him, and he sent me.”
