Λέγει αὐτῷ Θωμᾶς· κύριε, οὐκ οἴδαμεν ποῦ ὑπάγεις (John 14:5)

Title:  Thomas Says to Him, “Lord, We Do Not Know Where You Go”

The text is, “Λέγει αὐτῷ Θωμᾶς κύριε, οὐκ οἴδαμεν ποῦ ὑπάγεις πῶς δυνάμεθα τὴν ὁδὸν εἰδέναι”.

Λέγει -> third person, singular, present, active, indicative verb -> says

αὐτῷ  ->  third person, personal, masculine, singular, dative pronoun -> to him

Θωμᾶς -> masculine, singular, nominative, proper noun -> Thomas

κύριε -> masculine, singular, vocative noun -> Lord

οὐκ -> negative particle -> not

οἴδαμεν -> first person, plural, perfect, active, indicative verb -> we do know

ποῦ ->  interrogative particle -> where

ὑπάγεις -> second person, singular, present, active, indicative verb -> you go

πῶς -> interrogative particle -> how

δυνάμεθα -> first person, plural, present, passive, indicative verb -> are we to be able

τὴν -> feminine, singular, accusative article -> the

ὁδὸν -> feminine, singular, accusative noun -> way

εἰδέναι -> perfect, active, infinitive verb -> to know

The meaning of this verse is,

Thomas says to him, “Lord, we do not know where you go.  How are we to be able to know the way?”
