Title:  And They Were Saying, “Is This not Jesus the Son of Joseph”

The text is, “καὶ ἔλεγον· οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν Ἰησοῦς ὁ υἱὸς Ἰωσήφ, οὗ ἡμεῖς οἴδαμεν τὸν πατέρα καὶ τὴν μητέρα; πῶς νῦν λέγει ὅτι ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καταβέβηκα”

“καὶ”:  coordinating conjunction meaning “and”.

“ἔλεγον”:  third person, plural, imperfect, active, indicative verb meaning “they were saying”.

“οὐχ”:  negative particle meaning “not”.

“οὗτός”:  masculine, singular, nominative, demonstrative pronoun meaning “this”.
