ἕως ἄρτι οὐκ ᾐτήσατε οὐδὲν ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου (John 16:24)

Title:  Until Now You Have Asked Nothing in My Name; You Ask and You Will Receive

The text is, “ἕως ἄρτι οὐκ ᾐτήσατε οὐδὲν ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου αἰτεῖτε καὶ λήμψεσθε ἵνα ἡ χαρὰ ὑμῶν ᾖ πεπληρωμένη”.

ἕως -> improper preposition taking the genitive for its object word -> until

ἄρτι -> temporal adverb -> now

οὐκ -> negative particle -> not NRIEH

ᾐτήσατε -> second person, plural, aorist, active, indicative verb -> you have asked

οὐδὲν -> neuter, singular, accusative, indefinite adjective -> nothing

ἐν -> preposition taking the dative for its object word -> in

τῷ -> neuter, singular, dative article -> the NRIEH

ὀνόματί -> neuter, singular, dative noun -> name

μου -> first person, personal, singular, genitive pronoun -> my

αἰτεῖτε -> second person, plural, present, active, indicative verb -> you ask

καὶ -> coordinating conjunction -> and

χαρὰ -> feminine, singular, nominative noun -> joy

ᾖ -> third person, singular, present, subjunctive verb -> might be

πεπληρωμένη -> perfect, passive, participial, feminine, singular, nominative verb -> being filled

The meaning of this verse is,

Until now you have asked nothing in my name; you ask and you will receive so that your joy might be being filled.”
