Title:  But When They Were Coming to Jesus they saw Him Having Already  Died

The text is, “ἐπὶ δὲ τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἐλθόντες, ὡς εἶδον ἤδη αὐτὸν τεθνηκότα, οὐ κατέαξαν αὐτοῦ τὰ σκέλη”.

ἐπὶ -> preposition taking the accusative for its object word -> to

δὲ -> coordinating conjunction -> but

τὸν -> masculine, singular, accusative article -> the NRIEH

Ἰησοῦν -> masculine, singular, accusative, proper noun -> Jesus

ἐλθόντες -> aorist, active, participial, masculine, singular, nominative verb -> they were coming

ὡς -> subordinating temporal conjunction -> when

εἶδον -> third person, plural, aorist, active, indicative verb -> they saw

ἤδη -> temporal adverb -> already

The meaning of this verse is,

But when they were coming to Jesus, they saw him having already died, they did not break his legs.
