ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς· ἀπὸ σεαυτοῦ σὺ τοῦτο λέγεις (John 18:34)

Title:  Jesus Answered, “Do You Say This of Yourself?”

The text is,”ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς· ἀπὸ σεαυτοῦ σὺ τοῦτο λέγεις ἢ ἄλλοι εἶπόν σοι περὶ ἐμοῦ”.

ἀπεκρίθη -> third person, singular, aorist, active, indicative verb -> answered

Ἰησοῦς -> masculine, singular, nominative, proper noun -> Jesus

ἀπὸ -> preposition taking the genitive for its object word -> of | from | by

σεαυτοῦ -> second person, masculine, singular, genitive, reflexive pronoun -> yourself

σὺ -> second person, personal, singular, nominative pronoun -> you

τοῦτο -> neuter, singular, accusative, demonstrative pronoun -> this

λέγεις -> second person, singular, present, active, indicative verb -> do say

ἢ -> particle -> or

ἄλλοι -> masculine, plural, nominative, demonstrative adjective -> others

εἶπόν -> third person, plural, aorist, active, indicative verb -> did say it

περὶ -> preposition taking the genitive for its object word -> about

ἐμοῦ -> first person, personal, singular, genitive pronoun -> me

The meaning of this verse is,

Jesus answered, “Do you say this of yourself?  Or did others say it to you about me?”
