Title:  His Parents Said These Things Because they Were Terrified of the Jews

The text is, “ταῦτα εἶπαν οἱ γονεῖς αὐτοῦ ὅτι ἐφοβοῦντο τοὺς Ἰουδαίους ἤδη γὰρ συνετέθειντο οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἵνα ἐάν τις αὐτὸν ὁμολογήσῃ χριστόν ἀποσυνάγωγος γένηται”.

“ταῦτα”:  neuter, plural, accusative, demonstrative pronoun meaning “these things”.

“εἶπαν”:  third person, plural, aorist, active, indicative verb meaning “said”.

“οἱ”:  masculine, plural, nominative article meaning “the” but it is not rendered into English here.

“γονεῖς”:  masculine, plural, nominative noun meaning “parents”.

“αὐτοῦ”:  third person, personal, masculine, singular, genitive pronoun meaning “his”.

“ὅτι”:  subordinating causative conjunction meaning “because”.

His parent said these things because they were terrified  of the Jews, because the Jews already had agreed that, if anyone were to confess him Christ, he would be banished from synagogue.
