Title:  Therefore Jesus Said, “Forgive Her”

The text is, “εἶπεν οὖν ὁ Ἰησοῦς· ἄφες αὐτήν, ἵνα εἰς τὴν ἡμέραν τοῦ ἐνταφιασμοῦ μου τηρήσῃ αὐτό”.

“εἶπεν”:  third person, singular, aorist, active, indicative verb meaning “said”.

“οὖν”:  coordinating inferential conjunction meaning “therefore”.

“ὁ”:  masculine, singular, nominative article meaning “the” but it is not rendered into English here.

“Ἰησοῦς”:  masculine, singular, nominative, proper noun meaning “Jesus”.

“ἄφες”:  second person, singular, aorist, active, imperative verb meaning “you forgive”.

“αὐτήν”:  third person, personal, feminine, accusative pronoun meaning “her”.

The meaning of this verse is,

Therefore Jesus said, “You forgive her, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial.”
