Title:  For Not Yet

οὔπω γὰρ ἦν βεβλημένος εἰς τὴν φυλακὴν ὁ Ἰωάννης

“οὔπω”:  temporal adverb meaning “not yet”.

“γὰρ”:  explanatory coordinating conjunction meaning “for”.

“ἦν”:  third person, singular, imperfect, indicative verb meaning “was”

“βεβλημένος”:  perfect, passive, participle, masculine, singular, nominative verb meaning “was being put”.

“εἰς”  preposition taking the accusative for its object word and meaning “in”.

“τὴν”:  feminine, singular, accusative article meaning “the”.

“φυλακὴν”:  feminine, singular, accusative noun meaning “prison”.

“ὁ”:  masculine, singular, nominative article meaning “the” but it is not rendered into English here.

“Ἰωάννης”:  masculine, singular, nominative noun meaning “John”.

The meaning of this verse is, “For not yet was John being put in the prison.”
