Title:  For His Disciples Had Gone into the City

The text is, “οἱ γὰρ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ἀπεληλύθεισαν εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἵνα τροφὰς ἀγοράσωσιν”.

“οἱ”:  masculine, plural, nominative article meaning “the”.

“γὰρ”:  explanatory coordinating conjunction meaning “for”.

“μαθηταὶ”:  masculine, plural, nominative noun meaning “disciples”.

“αὐτοῦ”:  third person, personal, masculine, singular, genitive pronoun meaning “his”.

“ἀπεληλύθεισαν”:  third person, plural, pluperfect, active, indicative verb meaning “had gone” or “had gone away”.

“εἰς”:  preposition taking the accusative for its object word and meaning “into”.
