Εἰ μὴ ἦλθον καὶ ἐλάλησα αὐτοῖς, ἁμαρτίαν οὐκ εἴχοσαν (John 15:22)

Title:  If I Had Not Come and Spoken With Them, They Would Not Have Sin

The text is, “Εἰ μὴ ἦλθον καὶ ἐλάλησα αὐτοῖς ἁμαρτίαν οὐκ εἴχοσαν νῦν δὲ πρόφασιν οὐκ ἔχουσιν περὶ τῆς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν”.

Εἰ -> subordinating conditional conjunction -> if

μὴ -> negative particle -> not

ἦλθον -> first person, singular, aorist, active, indicative verb -> I had come

καὶ -> coordinating conjunction -> and

ἐλάλησα -> first person, singular, aorist, active, indicative verb -> spoken

The meaning of this verse is,

If I had not come and spoken with them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.”
