Title:  So, As Martha Heard That Jesus Comes, She Met Him

The text is, “Ἡ οὖν Μάρθα ὡς ἤκουσεν ὅτι Ἰησοῦς ἔρχεται ὑπήντησεν αὐτῷ· Μαριὰμ δὲ ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ ἐκαθέζετο”.

“Ἡ”:  feminine, singular, nominative article meaning “the” but it is not rendered into English here.

“οὖν”:  coordinating inferential conjunction meaning “so”.

“Μάρθα”:  feminine, singular, nominative, proper noun meaning “Martha”.

“ὡς”:  subordinating temporal conjunction meaning “as”.

“ἤκουσεν”:  third person, singular, aorist, active, indicative verb meaning “heard”.

“ὅτι”:  subordinating complementary conjunction meaning “that”.

“Ἰησοῦς”:  masculine, singular, nominative,  proper noun meaning “Jesus”.

“ἔρχεται”:  third person, singular, present, middle, indicative verb meaning “comes”.

“ὑπήντησεν”:  third person, singular, aorist, active, indicative verb meaning “she met”.

The meaning of this verse is,

So, as Martha heard that Jesus comes, she met him, but Mary was sitting in the house.
