Title:  If We Say that We Have no Sin, We Deceive Ourselves

The text is, “ἐὰν εἴπωμεν ὅτι ἁμαρτίαν οὐκ ἔχομεν ἑαυτοὺς πλανῶμεν καὶ ἡ ἀλήθεια οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν ἡμῖν”.

ἐὰν -> subordinating conditional conjunction -> if

εἴπωμεν -> first person, plural, aorist, active, subjunctive verb -> we should say

ὅτι -> subordinating complementary conjunction -> that

ἁμαρτίαν -> feminine, singular, accusative noun -> sin

οὐκ -> negative particle -> not | no

ἔχομεν -> first person, plural, present, active, indicative verb -> we have

ἑαυτοὺς -> third person, plural, masculine, plural, accusative, reflexive pronoun -> ourselves

πλανῶμεν -> first person, plural, present, active, indicative verb -> we deceive

καὶ -> coordinating conjunction -> and

ἡ -> feminine, singular, nominative article -> the

ἀλήθεια -> feminine, singular, nominative noun -> truth

οὐκ | negative particle -> not

ἔστιν -> third person, singular, present, indicative verb -> is

ἐν -> preposition taking the dative for its object word -> in

ἡμῖν -> third person, personal, plural, dative pronoun -> him

The meaning of this verse is,

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is  not in us.
